I liked the delicacy of flesh tones when photographed with infrared  film and began exploring the dunes and woods to have alternate venues  for photographing nudes on the Cape.  When developing the film, I  worked to keep the images subtle, avoiding the heavy-handed infrareds with blown-out highlights and pronounced grain that had become  standard.  The visual resonances between sand and flesh and the way light created atmosphere within the body interested me.  The bodies
often look like land masses.
