Nudes (2014-2019): Of Water and Earth
These images continue the interconnection between nature and human.
“I first encountered Karin's photographs in a gallery on Cape Cod. At first, I didn't understand what I was seeing, but then I realized they were images of the human form in a watery landscape. I had never seen anything like them. There would be nothing unusual about people in a landscape, but people as the landscape was something I had never considered.
Both people and landscapes move and change, but usually at a far different pace. In this case, the two merged into a profound, still, and timeless form. Over the years, Karin has continued to explore the relationship between the bare human form and the echoing worlds of water and land. Her photographs continue to surprise and affirm the essential unity between our bodies and the natural world.”
